Education Projects
All Play performers are dance-in-education specialists, having a wide portfolio of teaching developed over the last 7 years. Constantly re-inventing ways to teach skills and engage participants, All Play can meet your specific education needs. Geared to offer enjoyable, accessible and high energy workshops, All Play benefits a large number of students and schools.
We create tailor-made packages suitable for KS3 and KS4 to increase popularity of dance in secondary education, focus on accessibility of movement material, emphasise contact improvisation (partnering), intention in dance and creativity. We use a physical vocabulary which takes influence from contemporary dance, breakdance and contact improvisation.
Aware of GCSE and AS/A Level syllabus requirements we create bespoke workshops, focusing on solo and group dance devising, watching professional work and working with professional dance artists.
We work with several Arts Mark schools providing workshops and choreographing in keeping with the requirements of arts bids, gifted and talented students, or students 'at risk'. We deliver creative workshops at an appropriate level to participants with learning or physical disabilities.
We work extensively and effectively with students that speak English as a second language.
We also provide consultancy for teachers requiring extra input and vocabulary for their own practice and personal development and the company have vast experience in secondary education and are familiar with primary education, extra curricular activities including youth groups, making work for youth companies and theatre groups.
We choreograph pieces on students for performance work.
We design workshops that fit inside or outside school hours, and which are flexible, ranging from workshops (1 hour - 1 day), short residencies (2 - 5 days) to long-term residencies (1 -2 weeks) Our current touring work ‘Its Rude to Point’ debates social relationships and behaviour through game-play and banter (vocal and physical). The piece could be performed to provoke discussion with great effect in youth clubs, education settings, and with young offenders of all ages.
Additionally, we could follow a performance with specifically designed practical sessions to address the issues within the piece. Alternatively, we could choreograph work that would co-ordinate with ‘It’s Rude to Point’ to act as a curtain raiser for an evening of performance.
All Play also have experience in various community settings and would welcome the opportunity to use their experience further.
We use dance as a tool to promote fitness and healthy living to post graduate university students. Practical movement sessions have been used with the aim of motivating unemployed groups. Both Vanessa and Nikki have been part of a successful long-term teaching team who taught dance in prison (HMP Dovegate), with phenomenal effect.
All Play hold enhanced CRB checks.
Please contact Vanessa or Nikki to discuss how we can meet your specific needs (see contact page).
